Castle Busters Patch 1.18: Graves and Foundation Rework
Read the verified Castle Busters 1.18 changes to Graves, foundations, Wolfie, Leif, Sir Rally, anti-cheat and battle synchronization.
Patch 1.18 adds Graves and changes foundations from a passive support into an active structural reinforcement. It also fixes Wolfie scaling, Leif and Sir Rally explosion behavior, PvP synchronization and several interface problems. Retest any formation or upgrade conclusion made before 1.18.

New hero: Graves
Graves throws tombstones that bounce until they settle. At the end of the turn, every grave fires a ghost, targeting exposed units first. A grave stays on the field until a projectile or a rolling castle destroys it.
That description confirms persistence and targeting priority, but it does not publish damage, bounce count, health, range, rarity, price or an optimal position. Treat Graves as a board-state unit and verify those missing values in the current client before calling him a best pick.

Foundations now reinforce structures
The patch reworks foundations so they actively reinforce a structure. The stated goal is to reduce unpredictable chain collapses and make placement matter more.
Do not carry a pre-1.18 foundation test forward unchanged. Save the old layout, recreate the same structure under 1.18, and compare one placement change at a time. A more stable result in one layout does not prove that every tower, material tier or enemy attack behaves the same way.

Hero and combat fixes
Wolfie’s explosion scaling was fixed and his transformation damage boost was increased. Explosion-power problems involving Leif and Sir Rally were also fixed. These are reasons to retest those heroes, not enough evidence to assign exact tiers without current values and repeatable match comparisons.
The patch also includes anti-cheat improvements and multiple PvP synchronization fixes. If a replay now differs from an older recording, preserve both dates and test the current build before diagnosing the difference as a strategy error.
| Area | Verified 1.18 change | What to retest |
|---|---|---|
| Wolfie | Explosion scaling fixed; transformation damage boost increased | Neighbor-trigger formation and post-transform result |
| Leif | Explosion-power issue fixed | Same-row revival setup plus explosion result |
| Sir Rally | Explosion-power issue fixed | Immediate-neighbor setup and affected damage |
| PvP | Synchronization fixes | Repeat a comparable match before using old timing evidence |

Interface fixes and one unresolved note
The official notes also list fixes for laser colors, Pulsar’s stuck laser, training-time display, cosmetic banners, shop, training and preview popups, a black screen after battle, and aiming on the try screen.
The notes mention an Ice Blaster damage-scaling problem as coming soon rather than completed. Keep that item in an unresolved state until a later official note or current-client test confirms the fix.

1.18 retest checklist
Retest foundations first if your strategy relied on controlled collapse. Retest Wolfie, Leif and Sir Rally if an older result depended on their explosion or transformation behavior. Record the client version, opponent, eight-unit loadout, castle materials and the first decisive event.
Change one variable per comparison. If the result is inconsistent, keep the conclusion provisional and use the team-testing worksheet rather than turning one match into a universal build claim.
